Pooling Around

I have always been fascinated by pools and it is one of the elements that I look forward to check when I visit a new hotel, some becomes the main memory from them, while others become the place where good memories with friends were made.

I will start with what I call Amazing pools, the ones that are so unique and perfect, in all senses, that create a wow effect from the moment you walk into them.

Sometimes less is more and the simplicity of the design should not compete with what is all about, the view of the sea and horizon beyond.

Other times, the design, details and complexity of the pool makes them something we have not seen before. They instantly creates a memory for us to associate with the hotel.

The building facade and the surrounding areas are reflected in the pool forms creating an close dialogue that makes the pool unique to the hotel and the location.

Hotel pools usually reflect the spirit of the brand and their design plays with the building geometry while the finishes and details, including the lighting, complement each other to reflect their DNA.

Some hotels bring the pool experience to a higher level, creating pools with a view, they can range from city views to the horizon beyond. A pool with a view represent for me a plus right away.

There are also intimate and private pools, they are perfect when you want complete privacy and relax, it is a complete different type of experience and it relates to what you are looking for.

Finally, there are the pools that we come back to them all the time, physically or with our memories, the ones that remind us that life is too short and we should continue Pooling around!!!
