With more than 20 years of experience in the Hospitality Design field, Jose can provide excellence for all hotel design projects. His strength in Projects Management and his active participation in the implementation of the designs, created by the companies he worked during his career, are reflected in the projects shown here.
GLOBAL BACKGROUND
From Colombia, where he studied Architecture, Jose moved to the USA in 1994 and started a career in Hospitality Design, working and living in Malta, Dubai, Hong Kong, Doha, Macau and coordinating with offices in Manila and Bangkok.
EXPERIENCE
From 1997, when Jose joined DiLeonardo in the USA, he started learning about Hospitality Design, starting as a job captain and getting the opportunity to grow and become a Studio Director-Principal. Jose worked with them for 16 years and created a strong foundation for his career, working with different cultures, in different time zones and a wide range of operators in the Industry. In 2013 and until 2017, he joined BUZ Design in Hong Kong, and together with a new office in Bangkok, managed to bring to reality several designs in locations as diverse as London and Surabaya. After two years working in Macau, in March 2020, he came back to Hong Kong and joined again BUZ Design. In 2021, Jose started a new chapter in his career and founded Olivares-Hotel Design.

A GLOBAL PRESENCE
Olivares Hotel Design focus is exclusively on the design of hospitality projects which include hotels, restaurants, spas, clubhouses and residential properties. During his career, Jose Olivares participated in projects with many of the top international hotel operators, including the following brands:
Jose Olivares participated in the development of the projects below in different roles, Studio Director/Partner (at DiLeonardo), Projects Director(at BUZ Design) and Senior Design Manager(Westar). The conceptual designs were not created by him but by a Lead Designer. However, Jose participated as active member of the teams, mentoring Junior designers in the process, implementing the design and bringing them to completion.
