I would like to start explaining that this is my first ever blog and the idea is to show some images of projects that I worked on-not the main designer, but part of the team that work on them, and also use images from my trips to elaborate about a topic that I consider will help me to combine my work experience with the places I have visited.
Is the Grand-staircase in Hotels an item destined to disappear? I believe it will, especially for urban hotels, with many of them located on the top of skyscrapers, less number of rooms, smaller ballrooms, etc. However, it may survive for resort properties, areas that target destination weddings or hotels in geographical locations where guest still want to impress the people invited to their party and have their "Kodak moment" sorry, their "selfie" coming up or down the steps.

Do you have a particular staircase that you remember from your trips? I am pretty sure we all do, from the ones in the grand museums to the modern ones, I confess that I have a particular fascination for spiral staircases and especially the ones that will bring you to the top of a building, the anticipation for the view makes it easier to continue climbing no manner how many steps to conquer it.

What about the details? from the design and finishes of each step, to the railing, surrounding walls and ceilings, each piece of the puzzle should come together and complement each other, creating a design that may not have the over scale proportion of other times but will be a "Grand staircase" on his own terms. They will never dissappear.
